B3. Workpackage description
Workpackage number 7
Objectives and input to workpackage

The objectives of this workpackage are:

  1. The definition of limits and advantages of hazard analysis methodologies established in WP2-WP5
  2. The assessment of vulnerability on the selected sites
  3. The evaluation of risk on the selected sites

Input to this workpackage are:

  • Scenarios obtained in WP2-WP5
  • Relevant criteria to assess the vulnerability determined in WP6
  • Relevant criteria to assess the risk, based on both direct and indirect consequences, determined in WP6

Description of work

Focusing the attention separately on each selected site, the results obtained in WP2-WP5 are collected and organised. The scenarios established through different methodologies of hazard analysis are also compared in order to define their limits and advantages and to assess the hazard for the site.

Then a collection of data related to infrastructures, buildings, environment and population is needed for the assessment of their vulnerability in relation to the defined hazard.

The evaluation of direct and indirect economical (in a wide sense) impact is the last step for the assessment of risk in the selected site.

Deliverables

D17. Hazard evaluation for all the selected sites;

D18. Risk assessment for all the selected sites;

D19. Book on risk assessment methodologies and their application to the selected sites.
